Sara D. Collins, MD is an Interventional Cardiologist and the Site/Medical Director at Flourish – Bowie, a De Novo research site in Bowie, Maryland serving the Washington DC region. She earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College, completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland, and did fellowships in general and Interventional Cardiology at Georgetown and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Colins, MD has led numerous Cardiovascular studies with over 30 years of clinical research experience focusing on coronary interventions and clinical trials involving diverse populations.
Collins, MD is also a recognized expert in obesity-related cardiovascular conditions and specializes in innovative treatments for Coronary Artery Disease, Heart Failure, and Metabolic Syndrome. Her research has been instrumental in advancing interventions for patients from underserved communities affected by obesity. Her passion for diversity in clinical trials is the driving force of all her work in Cardiovascular research.
Collins, MD co-chairs the Association of Black Cardiologists’ Health and Public Policy Committee working to shape healthcare policies and initiatives that benefit underserved populations. She is dedicated to improving outcomes through innovative research and clinical excellence.
