Sara D. Collins MD, FACC

Dr. Collins is an Interventional Cardiologist in private practice at Chesapeake Cardiac Care in Bowie, Maryland. She earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University in Providence, RI and her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. She completed her Internal Medicine training at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD and her Cardiology fellowship at Georgetown University/Medstar Washington Hospital Center. She then went on to complete her Interventional Cardiology training at Medstar Washington Hospital Center.

Dr. Collins founded the Capital Research Institute, created to conduct cardiovascular clinical trials in Washington, D.C. She is widely published in several peer-reviewed medical journals. She has conducted research in a variety of subjects, including gender and racial disparities in cardiovascular disease. Well respected and highly experienced in her field, Dr. Collins is the Medical Director for Flourish Bowie.

Dr. Collins serves as a consultant for healthcare startups engaging in business and product development. She is an active member of the association of Black Cardiologists and co-chairs their healthcare advocacy committee.
