Robert Nahouraii MD, FAAP

Robert Nahouraii, MD, FAAP, is a Principal Investigator at Flourish Research, based at the Charlotte, North Carolina site. Dr. Nahouraii is board certified in psychiatry and neurology and in pediatrics, with special qualification in child neurology. He brings more than 30 years of experience in neurology and patient care, along with extensive clinical research experience focused on central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Dr. Nahouraii has served as a clinical trial investigator since 2010.

His clinical research experience spans a broad range of CNS conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, Dravet syndrome, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, migraine, multiple sclerosis, seizures, spasticity, and insomnia. His Alzheimer’s disease research experience is particularly extensive, encompassing 20 clinical trials ranging from Phase Ib through Phase III and involving participants across the Alzheimer’s disease continuum, including preclinical and prodromal disease, mild cognitive impairment, early Alzheimer’s disease, mild-to-moderate disease, and Alzheimer’s disease-associated psychosis. His experience includes studies evaluating investigational therapies for disease modification and symptomatic treatment, as well as long-term extension studies and biomarker- and genotype-related research.

Dr. Nahouraii is committed to advancing CNS research through thoughtful study conduct, patient-centered care, and the development of new treatment options for patients and families affected by neurological and neurodegenerative disease.

Dr. Nahouraii earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at The Ohio State University, followed by neurology training at Duke University Medical Center.
