Michael Hafran Principal Investigator

Flourish - Orlando

Dr. Hafran is board-certified in Family Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine in 2001 at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. After more than a decade of clinical practice, Dr. Hafran returned to New York City to acquire an MBA at New York University in 2018.

Dr. Hafran has over 20 years of clinical experience which began with serving as an Air Force physician after 911. Following a 4-year overseas tour, he left the Federal Government and returned to the Midwest to assist various hospital organizations in the development of urgent care services. It was during this time that he became particularly interested in the different expressional facets of COPD, asthma, coronary artery disease, and diabetes.

Dr. Hafran consequently transitioned to clinical research with Parexel International in early 2020, just at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. His Phase I experience involved both large and small-molecule therapeutic research as well as developmental work on vaccinations.

Dr. Hafran left clinical research to pursue an opportunity in medical technology for several years but has returned to clinical research because “technology can help but can never supplant the need for human understanding of how a disease impacts peoples’ bodies and hearts.” He is looking forward to leveraging his medical, business, and technological knowledge to enhance and broaden Flourish Research’s contribution to the development of therapies that improve people’s health and quality of life.
