Bonnie S. Kimmel MD

Dr. Bonnie Kimmel is a board-certified endocrinologist with over two decades of clinical and research experience in diabetes and metabolic health. She currently serves as an Investigator at Diablo Clinical Research (Now Flourish Research, Walnut Creek), where she leads and supports Phase I–IV clinical trials focused on innovative therapies and devices for endocrine, metabolic, and cardiovascular conditions.

Before joining Diablo Clinical Research (Now Flourish Research, Walnut Creek) in 2022, Dr. Kimmel spent over a decade providing expert endocrine care at John Muir Medical Group. Her clinical research involvement includes serving as Principal Investigator for multiple studies and contributing as a Sub-Investigator to more than 55 trials covering diabetes technologies, obesity treatments, cardiovascular health, vaccines, and neurological conditions.

Dr. Kimmel completed her medical training at Brown University and her Internal Medicine residency at Yale University, where she also served as Chief Resident. She went on to pursue an Endocrinology Fellowship and a Wilsey Advanced Diabetes Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.

She is an active member of the Endocrine Society and the American Diabetes Association and is a past recipient of the Johnson & Johnson Physician Scholars Award. Dr. Kimmel combines her deep clinical expertise with a dedication to advancing therapeutic options through research, with a special focus on improving outcomes for people with diabetes.
