Barbara A. Hutchinson, MD is a highly regarded Cardiologist and Medical Director at de-novo site Flourish – Bowie, Maryland, with over three decades of experience in cardiovascular medicine and research. She is also the president of Chesapeake Cardiac Care. Hutchinson earned her MD from the University of Maryland and a PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from Howard University, which uniquely qualify her to address complex cardiovascular conditions. She is board-certified in cardiovascular diseases and Sleep Medicine, with expertise in the critical relationship between sleep disorders and heart health.
Throughout her career, Hutchinson, MD has made significant contributions to research and clinical practice, particularly in hypertension, heart failure, and obesity-related cardiovascular conditions. Her research has focused on advancing treatments for coronary artery disease and metabolic syndrome, which disproportionately affect obese and underserved populations.
