Vaginitis Research Study
Basic Criteria
- Age 14 or older
- Must be assigned female at birth and has a vagina
- Presents with at least one (1) of the symptoms of vaginitis, including but not limited to:
- abnormal vaginal discharge, vaginal odor genital itching or irritation, pain/discomfort during sexual intercourse or urination, edema, OR Erythema
Answers Must be NO
- Are you currently menstruating?
- Have you used any intravaginal products, vaginal deodorants, or douching in the last 48 hours?
- Are you unable or unwilling to provide the appropriate required specimens (Vaginal swab)?
- Do you have any medical conditions or bleeding disorders that may put you at risk for bleeding from collection of samples?
- Have you previously enrolled in this study?
Answers Must be YES
- Are you willing to provide medical and/or sexual history required for this study?
- If you are aged 14-17, do you have a legal guardian/parent who will be willing to sign an informed consent form?
- Do you have sufficient medical and/or sexual history to document the information required for this study
- Are you willing to take a sample/swab yourself here in our office?
