Heart Failure Study Self-Scheduler

Qualified Participants Must:

• Be 18 to 80 years old

• Be diagnosed with Heart Failure with Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF) for at least 3 months

• Be on a SGLT2 inhibitor for at least 1 month

Please note there are additional study criteria

Participants May Receive: 

• Study related care at no cost

• Study related medical exams at no cost

• Compensation for time and travel

Answers Must Be YES:

• Have you been diagnosed with Heart Failure with Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF) of 40% or more?
• Have you been diagnosed with Class 2, Class 3, or Class 4 Heart Failure?
• Have you been on a SGLT2 inhibitor for at least one month? Examples include:
  • Empagliflozin (Jardiance)
  • Dapagliflozin (Farxiga)
  • Canagliflozin (Invokana)
  • Ertugliflozin (Steglatro)

Answers Must Be NO:

• If female of childbearing potential and sexually active, are you pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning on becoming pregnant?

• Have you any of the following cardiovascular issues in the last 3 months?
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke or Mini-Stroke
  • Acute Inflammatory Heart Disease (such as Acute Myocarditis)
  • Acute Coronary Syndrome
  • Coronary artery bypass graft surgery other another type of major cardiovascular surgery
  • Urgent percutaneous coronary intervention
  • Cardiac resynchronization therapy

• Do you have Type 1 Diabetes?

• Do you have a renal disease requiring ongoing dialysis or liver cirrhosis?

• Do you have an active cancer requiring treatment? Appropriately treated basal cell or squamous cell carcinomas of the skin is allowed.

• Have you ever had a heart transplant, are you currently on a transplant waiting list, or are you using (or planning to use) any heart support devices or IV medications to help your heart pump, such as dobutamine or milrinone?

• Do you have an upcoming coronary, carotid or peripheral artery revascularization procedure?

• Do you have any condition that might affect how your body absorbs medications—such as past or planned weight-loss surgery, removal of part of your stomach or intestines, active inflammatory bowel disease, or problems with your pancreas?

• Do you have an uncontrolled serious heart arrhythmia, such as sustained ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, or an atrial flutter?
