GERD Self-Scheduler

To qualify for this study, participants must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have had heartburn and regurgitation for at least 6 months
• Experience heartburn at least 4 days a week
• Be willing to have an upper GI endoscopy
• Be willing to use contraception if female of non-child bearing potential
• Not be pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant if female
• Not have been in a previous research study in the past 4 weeks
• Not have a history of cancer in the past 5 years
  • Exception is surgically treated basal cell or squamous cell cancer of the skin
• Not take antidepressants or antipsychotic medications
• Not have manic-depression, anxiety disorder, panic disorder, somatoform disorder, personality disorder, or other psychological disorder
• Not have history of acid-suppressive, esophageal, or gastric surgery
• Not have HIV, Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C
