Flu Prevention Study Self Scheduler

Flourish Research is seeking participants for a flu prevention research study.

We are evaluating an investigational, long-acting antiviral medication to learn whether it may help prevent the flu in adults who are at higher risk for flu-related complications.

Qualified Participants Must:

✔ Be 18 years of age or older

✔ Have at least one of the following:

• Coronary artery disease, including a past heart attack, stent, or bypass (stable for at least 6 months)
• Heart failure
• Heart disease you were born with
• High blood pressure that has affected your heart
• Stage 3 chronic kidney disease
• Diabetes that requires insulin
• A weakened immune system from cancer treatment, an organ or stem cell transplant, or medicines that suppress the immune system

✔ Be in stable health, with no hospital stays for a worsening condition in the past 2 months

✔ Be able to answer short questions on a smartphone, tablet, or computer (a caregiver can help)

Participants May Receive:

• Study related care at no cost
• Study related medical exams at no cost
• Compensation for time and travel

Answers Must Be NO:

• Have you had an allergy or bad reaction to Zanamivir?
• Have you been diagnosed with influenza (the flu) in the past 6 months?
• Have you received a seasonal flu vaccine within 14 days before day 1 of study enrollment?
• Have you had an acute illness or infection in the past 7 days?
• Have you had close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 7 days?
• Have you had major surgery in the past 4 weeks?
• Are you on dialysis, or do you have severe kidney impairment?
• Have you received any IV (intravenous) medication in the past 14 days?
• Do you have a significant blood or blood clotting disorder?

Answers Must Be YES:

• Are you 18 years of age or older?
• Do you have a negative rapid test for influenza and COVID-19 before Day 1?
• For females of childbearing potential: Are you willing to follow the study’s contraception (birth control) requirements?
• Are you medically stable, with no significant change in treatment and no hospitalization for a worsening disease or other significant medical event in the past 2 months?
• Are you willing to not donate blood or blood products from Day 1 through 32 weeks after study treatment?
